Water of Life
Pastor Jeff Manion concludes our Life and Where We Find It series by exploring Jesus's encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. We discover that Jesus crosses every boundary to offer living water to those society overlooks and casts aside. We learn that the temporary fulfillment we seek in relationships, achievements, and possessions always leaves us thirsting again, but Jesus offers eternal satisfaction through the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. We are challenged to recognize that our deepest longings can only be met by Jesus, the living water who transforms us from the inside out.
Source of Life
Pastor Jeff Manion continues our Life and Where We Find It series by exploring Jesus as the true source of abundant life in John 10:10. We discover that the primary battle of the human heart is to see and adore Jesus for who he really is—the Creator, sustainer, and essence of life itself. We learn that God's gifts in creation should point us back to the generous Giver, but wealth and possessions compete for our hearts' trust. We are challenged to pursue the better "yes" of life in Jesus, finding our satisfaction in him so that lesser allures lose their appeal.
The Bread of Life
Pastor Jeff Manion begins our Life and Where We Find It series by exploring Jesus's declaration to be the Bread of Life. Through the crowd's pursuit of physical bread, we discover how easily we mistake temporary satisfaction for what our souls truly need. We examine how idols—whether achievement, approval, or relationships—promise fulfillment but always leave us empty, and how Jesus alone offers nourishment that doesn't run out. This message challenges us to identify and expose our idols and to replace them with the only One who truly satisfies.

Beyond the Weekend Devotionals

Eternal Fulfillment
As Jesus speaks with the woman at the well, he uses the everyday image of water to show the extraordinary life that only he can provide. While she has been seeking satisfaction elsewhere, he tells her that the life he offers will quench her thirst forever. Jesus invites her to drink of his living water, a gift that leads to eternal life. The woman responds by expressing her desire for something that will truly satisfy, so she won’t have to keep returning to draw water (John 4:15). Receiving this living water requires her to turn fully to Jesus and trust him alone to meet the longings of her heart...

Water of Life
It is early in Jesus’s ministry, and he is already facing opposition. As he travels north toward Galilee, he stops at a well in a Samaritan village and meets a woman there alone. This encounter defies cultural norms, as Jews and Samaritans are hostile toward one another and men do not publicly speak with women in that historical context. In a culture where she is overlooked and cast aside, marked by broken relationships, Jesus meets her with compassion. He crosses every boundary to show his love for the outsider and offers her an unexpected message. Though she has searched for satisfaction in many places, Jesus gently reveals that he alone is the true source of life—the living water her soul has been longing for...

Lasting Satisfaction
The crowd still seeks a sign to know if Jesus is really from God. They expect a king who will break Rome's grip and keep their stomachs full. They want a new Moses who will free them from oppression and provide for their daily needs. Jesus offers something far greater. He hasn’t come to free them from Rome or just fill their dinner plates. He’s come to fulfill their deepest need—forgiveness of sin and restoration to God. The bread he offers is his own body, given on the cross, so that whoever trusts him will live forever...
