Guest Speaker, Pastor John Dickson, discusses doubting the Bible. Through this conversation, we learn how the Bible is solid and can be trusted. We discover how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament. We also see, that unlike other religious texts, the Bible is historical and features actual people, places and events. We are encouraged to understand the various kinds of doubt we may face and show mercy for ourselves and others.
Guest Speaker, Pastor John Dickson, shares reasons we have to trust the Bible. Through this conversation, we are reminded that trusting the Bible isn’t just a matter of intellect. Rather, we need to get to know the Bible like a friend. We also learn how the texts that comprise our Bible were selected and how they’ve been accurately preserved. We also discover how close in time they were written to actual events and that Scripture wasn’t written from a place of power or to manipulate. We find that Scripture is both solid and soft.
Pastor Aaron Buer discusses the violence in the Old Testament. Through this conversation, we see that the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament, both gracious and just. We are challenged extend the grace of God to the people around us, while also trusting in God’s justice.
