Food Service - Part-time
We are in need of a cook able to serve on Tuesdays, either weekly or every other week. They would be paired with another person, so there will always be two people to share the load. Our cooks plan the menu, buy the food (and will be reimbursed), prepare the food, and serve it here at Alpha. Lunch is served at 12:15. Interacting with our Single Moms is one of the most important parts of this job, as well as one of the most rewarding. Clean up after the meal is appreciated. We have a dishwasher to run, as well as washing what other dishes may have been used. Alpha has a full kitchen, so it is up to the volunteer whether they would like to cook here or simply bring prepared food ready to serve. Our Single Mom Support Group begins in September, and follows the school calendar through May (we are off for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break). Our cooks would need to arrive with enough time to get things set up for the 12:15 meal, and should plan on being here until about 1:30.
