Education - Part-time
We have an opening on Wednesdays for an experienced teacher/tutor for our adult special needs daughter at our office in SE Grand Rapids where she has a designated classroom. Our daughter is generally pleasant and likes to be active, read stories and do craft projects with help.
This is a year-round position every Wednesday from 8:30am – 5:00pm in a professional and relaxed environment. The office is located just off I-96 at the Cascade exit.
The ideal candidate would be mature, patient, caring and cheerful, and enjoy keeping a light and positive environment to provide daily support and encouragement to our daughter. Teaching certificate or experience is not required but desired. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Duties include:
Encouraging reading, writing, typing, simple math exercises on a daily basis
Playing puzzles, games, singing, walks in the park, occasional outings such as trips to the zoo
Preparing simple lunches, driving to/from daily workouts and sports lessons
Assisting as needed with dressing, dental and personal hygiene
Teaching spiritual enrichment exercises including Bible stories and songs
Wage begins at $20/hr minimum, more with experience and/or certification.
