· Preschool Director – Little Steps at SECOM
This is a full-time, year round position with work hours Monday-Friday each week.
Job Summary: Responsible for upholding the Mission and Vision of SECOM Resource Center. Administer day-to-day operations of Little Steps at SECOM Preschool programs (currently this includes two preschool classrooms with 16 children and two teaching staff each), including being available to address parent, child and staff issues. Develop, implement and evaluate program and center policies. Maintain compliance of all requirements of the State of Michigan childcare licensing (LARA), Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative (ELNC), Kent County Health Department (MICR), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and MiRegistry. Attend monthly Director meetings, regular Partner meetings, and other meetings/events as needed on behalf of SECOM as part of the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative (ELNC). Hire, lead, direct, train, supervise and evaluate all preschool center staff and volunteers. Develop and maintain professional and supportive relationships with preschool families. Cultural competency and ability to work with persons of diverse ages, ethnicities, cultures and economic statuses. Mandated court reporter of child abuse and neglect. Provide primary management for annual preschool program budget with support from the Executive Director and Bookkeeper, and make purchases to support program activities. Substitute in the classroom as needed in absence of teaching staff. Perform other duties as required.
