GROUP VALUES. This month, we continue focusing on the group value of TOGETHER. This week, we focus specifically on grieving together. Loss is part of life in a broken world. God never intended for us to carry grief alone. As a group, take a few minutes to reflect on how your group has walked through grief together. Consider reading Psalm 34:18, and discuss what it means that God draws near to the brokenhearted.

 GROW AS A LEADER. This week's parables remind us that people are watching the fruit of our lives before they'll ever trust our words. Before your group meets, spend a few minutes examining your own heart. Is there an area where your words don't match what's really going on inside you? Leading well starts with the humility to look at your own life first. If you would like support for something you’re struggling with, reach out to your ministry director. They would love to care for you in this season.

This week, Pastor Aaron Buer continued our PARABLES series by unpacking three short parables about pits, trees, and foundations. As a group, recall some of the sermon’s big ideas and main points.

In our culture today, what qualities attract a lot of people to follow someone?

We can be blind to the power of sin in our lives and fall into a pit. What areas are we often blind to?

It requires humility to invite someone to help us see the blind spots in our lives. Share about a time someone helped you recognize a blind spot in your life.

Jesus taught we can discern the fruit of someone’s life by listening to their words. What kinds of words, or patterns of speech, tend to reveal what's really going on in a believer's heart?
 

Is there a voice or influence in your life right now that, if you're honest, is leading you further from Jesus rather than closer to him?

If a storm's torrent were to hit your life right now, would you say your foundation is shaky, solid, or somewhere in between, and why?

Jesus said a solid foundation is built by hearing his words and putting them into practice. What is one practical step you could take this week to put God's Word into practice in an area of your life?
