The Bread of Life

Pastor Jeff Manion begins our Life and Where We Find It series by exploring Jesus's declaration to be the Bread of Life. Through the crowd's pursuit of physical bread, we discover how easily we mistake temporary satisfaction for what our souls truly need. We examine how idols—whether achievement, approval, or relationships—promise fulfillment but always leave us empty, and how Jesus alone offers nourishment that doesn't run out. This message challenges us to identify and expose our idols and to replace them with the only One who truly satisfies.

Gospel Shaped Marriage

Pastor Aaron continues our Groundwork series by exploring how the gospel transforms marriage according to Ephesians 5. We discover that God designed marriage between a man and woman to reflect the Trinity's partnership and serve as a mirror of Christ's love for the church. We learn that both husbands and wives have countercultural callings—wives to honor and respect, husbands to sacrificially love and serve. We are challenged to let our marriages become covenant relationships of promise-keeping that point a watching world to the ultimate covenant keeper, Jesus.

Promise of Messiah

Pastor Jeff Manion concludes our Epic sermon series by looking at the promises given throughout the Old Testament about the coming of the Messiah. We see that God’s plan was always to send Jesus to die for our sins and restore us to God. We recognize God’s faithfulness and power to fulfill every promise he makes. The truth of the promised Messiah brings peace and security knowing God is wholly trustworthy and faithful to his word.

Do Not Worry

Guest Pastor Dan Lian shares a powerful message examining Jesus's teaching on worry in Matthew 6:25-33. We discover how worry has become common in our daily experience and how Jesus diagnoses the root causes of our worries. Through Jesus's imagery of birds and flowers, we see God's faithful provision and care for his children as a good Father. We're challenged to remember that we are seen and cared for by God and trust in his abundance. The message invites us to experience the freedom God intends as we seek his kingdom first and discover that worship and worry cannot coexist.

Tax Collector’s Feast

Before Jesus shares his parable about the patches and wineskins, he joins a feast at a tax collector’s house. The table is set by Levi, a tax collector whom Jesus has just invited to follow him. Levi has dropped everything to do so. The entourage sitting around the table this evening includes the “who’s who” of cheats and hated men. These people cooperate with Rome and steal money from their own people. For Jesus to sit and laugh with them is beyond radical. It’s jaw-dropping! Yet, through his presence, Jesus proclaims that the kingdom of heaven is here. The promised one has arrived. The people around the table, captivated by his presence, will be changed forever...

Seeking God’s Honor

When Daniel prays for God to keep his promises, he takes a step off a well-worn path. Rather than pleading for God to restore Israel’s glory so that they might be like the surrounding kingdoms, he does something different. He asks God to restore Israel for God’s own glory. Daniel’s desire is that through his answered prayer, God’s name would be praised throughout the world. After years of praying, he has come to understand something important. God’s honor and glory are more valuable than his own.

Seeing Clearly

Daniel’s response to God’s Word through prayer corrects his vision. He sees two distinct realities: God’s holiness and Israel’s rebellion. Even in his people’s painful experience of exile, he recognizes God is keeping his covenant and inviting Israel to turn toward his love. He concedes to the truth that God is justified in his judgment for their rebellious hearts. He asks God to remember his promises and forgive his people of their sins. This prayer is an act of worship and confession that rightly orients his heart around God.
