THREE THINGS TO KNOW
DON’T MISS THIS
MEMBER BALLOT. This past weekend, Senior Pastor Aaron Buer gave a churchwide update. We are thankful for all God continues to do through the work of thousands of people serving across the church. This is the season when members of the church vote on the upcoming budget and nominees for deacon and elder positions. Please view Pastor Aaron’s update and find the membership ballot at adabible.org/ballot.
GROUP VALUES
This May, we focus on BIBLICAL TRUTH. We begin the sermon discussion guide each week by reading the primary Scripture from the sermon and answering a few observation questions about that passage. Consider how your group discusses the verses and how you can grow together by slowing down to observe the passage and ask questions about the text.

DISCUSSION GUIDE
Welcome to the fifth week of our sermon series, REKINDLE. This week, we look at Paul’s final charge to Timothy to keep sharing the gospel.
ICEBREAKER
What is one thing you are looking forward to this summer?
THIS WEEK’S TEXT
Have someone read 2 Timothy 4:1-8 aloud.
How does Paul describe the ways Timothy should persevere and fulfill his calling?
Paul warns that negative attitudes or behaviors will arise among some people. What are they, and how do they contrast with Timothy’s responsibility?
As Paul reflects on nearing the end of his life, what metaphors and imagery does he use to describe his service and devotion to Christ?
THIS WEEK’S SERMON
Pastor Jeff Manion continued our Rekindle sermon series by discussing Paul’s final words with Timothy, including the charge to stay faithful to the gospel. As a group, recall some of the sermon’s big ideas and main points.
When have you seen Christians cave to the temptation to seek out teachers who suit their desires?
What specific desires or aspects of your life reveal that you need to realign your heart to receive God’s truth rather than demanding what you want to hear?
Paul’s charge to Timothy to “preach the word” means faithfully communicating the gospel message. What is the core message of the gospel that we are called to proclaim?
How can we encourage and support one another to boldly and graciously share the gospel?
Paul instructs Timothy to use the gospel to “correct, rebuke and encourage” with patience. When have you seen this done well?
In what relationships or contexts could you practice correcting, rebuking or encouraging others with more patience and wisdom?
Paul declared that he “fought the good fight,” “finished the race,” and “kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). How can you do the same with your life?
As Paul neared the end of his life, he longed for Christ’s return. How can you cultivate a deeper longing and urgency for the coming of God’s Kingdom?
Which part of the sermon encouraged or challenged you the most, and why?
