THREE THINGS TO KNOW

DON’T MISS THIS

SERVING helps us grow in our faith and is one way we, as a church, bless others. Summer is a great time to step into serving. Find your place to serve at Adabible.info>Serve.

GROUP VALUES

This July, we’re focusing on FORMATIVE CONVERSATIONS. Formative Conversations are discussions that shape us in the character of Jesus. They can happen at times we don’t always expect, even within a small group. Our desire is for small group discussions to foster opportunities for Formative Conversations. Make it a habit to pray before your group meets and ask God to help your group be ready.

GROW AS A LEADER

Summer is a great time to check in with your STAFF CONTACT. Your staff contact would love to help you plan for the season, discuss what your group might study next, pray for you and your group or meet for encouragement!

DISCUSSION GUIDE

Welcome to the sixth week of our new sermon series, GOD IS___. This week, we look at God’s generosity.

ICEBREAKER

What is one of the most memorable or meaningful gifts you’ve ever received?

THIS WEEK’S TEXT

Have someone read 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 aloud.

What stands out to you in these verses?

What do you learn from this passage about God’s generosity?

What does this passage reveal about who we should be?

THIS WEEK’S SERMON

Pastor Jeff Manion continued our God Is sermon series by discussing God’s generosity. As a group, recall some of the sermon’s big ideas and main points.

In what ways do you see generosity displayed in our society today?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the generosity of God in nature? What was that experience like?

How does viewing everyday blessings (like food) as reflections of God’s generosity change your perspective on life?

Have someone read 2 Corinthians 8:9. How does God’s generosity in Christ affect your understanding of your worth and value?

Pastor Jeff said that what was done for you in Christ is more powerful than whatever was done to you. How does this reframe your hard experiences?

In what ways do you find it challenging to be generous with your time, talents or resources

How can we help each other cultivate the spirit of cheerful giving described in 2 Corinthians 9:7?

Reflect on your own life. In what specific way do you feel God inviting you to join his ongoing conversation of generosity?

What is one step you could take to be generous this week?

WRAP UP

This week, we talked about God‘s generosity in creation, Jesus and us. What from this conversation or the sermon encouraged or challenged you the most, and why?
