THREE THINGS TO KNOW

DON’T MISS THIS

Last weekend we updated the SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE format based on feedback and research. We work hard to provide leaders with resources that best facilitate good discussions. If you have any questions or feedback, please reach out to us at sdg@adabible.org.

GROUP VALUES

This April, we are focusing on the group value of RELATIONAL INVESTMENTS. This is all about developing a heart for those in our lives who don’t know Jesus. Talk with your group about who you are praying for to come to know Jesus. What opportunities has God provided to be intentional in your conversation? Keep praying for each person and God to grow your heart for the gospel.

GROW AS A LEADER

Want to grow as a leader? Looking to take a next step in your faith? The ONLINE LEADER TRAININGS are a great place to grow. Check out the opportunities at learning.adabible.org.

DISCUSSION GUIDE

This week we discuss the second sermon in our series, GOOD NEWS. We’ll talk about different aspects of who Jesus is.

What is some good news you’ve heard recently?

THIS WEEK’S TEXT

Have someone read Mark 2:1-12 aloud.

What questions are asked in this passage, and who asks them? What do the questions result in?

Is there anything else that seems significant to you in the text?

What does this passage show us about Jesus?

THIS WEEK’S SERMON

Guest Speaker John Dickson talked about who Jesus is. As a group, name his main points.

Which one of the points stood out to you the most, and why?

How does what John said about Jesus affirm or challenge how you view him?

People through the ages have viewed Jesus as either “just” a teacher or barely see him as a teacher at all. What are the dangers of both of these views?

One of the most extraordinary things about Christianity is that salvation comes through faith in Jesus as our Savior. How is this different from our own views of salvation or what other religions require?

Jesus said that when we see him, we see the Father (John 14:9). From our passage and discussion today, what characteristics of God do you see through Jesus?

What changes did the sermon encourage us to make in how we think or act regarding Jesus? Which one do you think you need to make?

Is there anything else about the sermon you wanted to talk about?

WRAP UP

Today we discussed who Jesus is. What’s one thing you want to do differently based on our discussion?
