Women’s Center Director

Position Title: Women’s Center Director 

Position type: Staff (full-time, salaried) 

Department: Client Services 

Reports to: Vice President of Client Services 

Basic Function: The Women’s Center Director manages day-to-day operations of Alpha Women’s Center (AWC) in alignment with the approved policies and procedures of Alpha Grand Rapids (AGR); oversees administrative duties for client services, volunteer coordination, and staff support across Support Services, Educational Services, and Material Resources departments; utilizes extensive social work expertise to address a wide spectrum of client needs. 

 

Key Responsibilities:    

 

Center Management: 

  • Coordinate daily operations of AWC, ensuring alignment with AGR’s core values. 

  • Implement and maintain consistent policies, procedures, and forms for all departments. 

  • Act as a social work expert for AWC and Alpha Men’s Center (AMC), collaborating with relevant department heads. 

  • Provide managerial support, supervision, and direction to AWC staff. 

  • Identify training needs for staff and volunteers and establish a training plan. 

Client Management: 

  • Recruit clients and collaborate with the Marketing team on promotional materials. 

  • Offer counsel to staff and volunteers for managing difficult client situations. 

  • Manage cases, issue reports, and maintain relationships with clients. 

Volunteer Management: 

  • Support program managers in volunteer engagement and management. 

  • Communicate policies, provide orientation, and organize training for volunteers. 

  • Assist in AGR’s volunteer training program and recruitment process. 

Program Management: 

  • Oversee and manage Support Services, Educational Services, and Material Resources. 

  • Establish program policies, assess effectiveness, and track outcomes. 

  • Develop and implement client satisfaction surveys and maintain partnerships for referrals. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s of Social Work (BWS), Licensed Bachelor of Social Work (LBSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), or relevant experience. 

  • At least five years of social work experience, including leadership roles and expertise in volunteer management, program development, and communications. 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and managerial skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent leadership and communication abilities. 

  • Ability to handle diverse responsibilities, manage time effectively, and work independently. 

  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, volunteers, donors, clients, patients, and the public. 

 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Belief in the sanctity of human life and demonstrated emotional and spiritual maturity. 

  • Committed Christian attending a local church in full agreement with AGR’s values. 

  • Respect for diversity and confidentiality. 

  • Refer to AGR Employee Handbook for guidelines. 

  • Exercise judgment while working closely with other directors. 

 

Ramp-Up Time: Six months.
