General Labor - Full-time

The Sustainability Coordinator is an important part of the Operations Team and is responsible for facility maintenance, sustainability, and warehouse organization.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Sustainability:

  • Responsible for the sustainability functions of the organization.
  • Ensures correct baling of all recycled textiles, following policies and procedures.
  • Keeps Sustainability Area clean and organized.
  • Works with Donation Center staff to quickly process items through the Trucking/Sustainability area.
  • In coordination with the Operations Director maintains relationships with sustainability partners and plans for pick-ups.
  • Works with Donation Center Coordinator to ensure quick processing of donations and continuous flow of inventory through the building.
  • Responsible for labeling and maintaining an inventory of items in the Sustainability area.

Facilities:

  • General building maintenance tasks.
  • Works with AARP/Community Service Individuals to keep the facility clean and in good working condition.
  • Responsible for maintenance of property including grass area, alley and walkways.

Transportation:

  • Work with truck driver to load/unload items from the truck.
  • Evaluate donation quality of regular pick-ups and communicate status to supervisor.
  • Support the programs by loading and unloading items.
  • Operates forklift in a safe and appropriate manner to move, store, load, and unload items.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time (32-35 hours/week) some nights and weekends as needed.

Education: High School Graduate preferred

Special Certifications: Chauffeur License

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Forklift operation

  • Forklift Operations
  • Ability to drive a truck with air brakes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment

Work Environment: Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds or heavier. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 35 per week

Experience:

  • Air brake: 1 year (Required)
