Do you have a student interested in working at ReNew? Great! Here are a few things to keep in mind:
ReNew will be hiring 3-5 students this summer, with the intention of having them each complete six shifts of training so they will be ready to go. We will try to offer an average of 2 shifts a week or 8 shifts a month which will vary based on availability and need.
We require our students to have reliable transportation to and from work, to be at least 15, with preference given to those 16 and older.
A typical shift for a student is 3:30pm start time until 7:30pm. On Saturdays we have a morning shift (9am-1pm) and an afternoon shift (12:30-4:30pm). We have increased need for employees during the fall and spring, when many are involved in school activities, so hiring preference will be given to people who are available during key times of the year (Christmas break, Spring Break) and do not have constant extracurricular activities year-round.
Students can request certain times off every month, but we require availability from everyone for at least two weekend shifts a month, and at least several weekday shifts a month.
A student employee must be responsible, timely, able to speak confidently, and respectfully to everyone, and able to do the tasks quickly and efficiently they are assigned each day (which include cashiering, light custodial responsibilities, sorting, pricing, lifting, moving, and loading heavy furniture, working donation room etc.) We have a lot of fun, but we expect a lot of our students, and this can be a stressful job especially when the store gets super busy!
This position starts at $9.50 an hour, and includes raises based on a yearly evaluation.
