Accounting / Finance - Part-time

Accounting Assistant Job Summary:

A global faith-based philanthropic organization with West Michigan roots is adding an Accounting Assistant to its team. The Accounting Assistant’s primary responsibilities include maintaining fixed assets log, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and expense reimbursements, and assisting with the disbursements process. Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Compiles, examines, and verifies accounting documents and financial data to establish and maintain accurate detailed financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Processing Accounts Payable, including electronic filing of checks with the bank.
  • Process direct deposit payments.
  • Maintain fixed assets log and assisting with the Personal Property Tax return.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and perform analysis as directed
  • Contribute to the improvement, automation, and streamlining of accounting’s reporting processes and performance measurements to maximize the contribution to the company’s goals

Schedule: Part-time (20-25 hrs. per week)

Pay: $23-$28/hr., Depending on Experience

Accounting Assistant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance desired
  • 2+ years of Accounting or finance experience
  • Previous experience in QuickBooks online, experience with Salesforce preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated MS Excel & MS PowerPoint skills
  • High-level critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization and analytical skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, accountability and confidentiality.
  • Displays a high level of personal and professional integrity.
