The Opportunity
Proactively manage and take responsibility to be the “lead storyteller” and “keeper of the brand” for SpringGR (SGR) by providing marketing and communication strategy and implementation for the SpringGR program and leadership team.

What You’ll Do
Lead Storyteller:
- Collaborate closely with SGR Director and RDV’s Director of Communication – Philanthropy to build and implement strategy and identify stories to be highlighted in broader communication regarding associated philanthropic efforts.
- Seek out interesting stories at all levels to share the success of businesses and impact of the SpringGR program.
- Organize and produce alumni stories.
Keeper of the Brand:
- Maintain quality control for the integrity of the final content deliverable for all communications and marketing.
- Responsible for the brand voice of SpringGR through all brand communications using clean, clear copy.
- Create and manage branded materials and merchandise.
- Look for and promote media opportunities for SpringGR.
Social Media:
- Create, develop, and plan social media campaigns for recruitment, programs, workshops, and events.
- Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content weekly (e.g., original text, photos, videos, etc.) using creative ideation and effective strategy for social media channels.
- Stay updated on industry and social media trends, and adjust social strategy as needed.
- Responsible for moderation of messages and comments during and after work hours for all social platforms and directing inquiries to appropriate team members.
- Evaluate and report on external social media campaigns using Google Analytics and other tools to measure against established goals provided by Director.
- Oversees SEO and proactively grow our current online presence.
- Recruit and engage potential participants through social media and events.
Media Developer & Electronic Communications:
- Produce content through photos and videos for SpringGR.
- Create and update the SGR website to support programming and communications.
- Create and distribute email marketing campaigns to support SpringGR opportunities.
- Effectively manage relationships with external vendors, including negotiating contracts.
What You’ll Bring
- 4-year marketing or communications degree with 4 years of marketing experience preferred. Relevant experience in communications and marketing may be considered in lieu of a business degree.
- English/Spanish bilingual speaker required.
- Relevant experience in working with diverse audiences in West Michigan through understanding the value of language, culture, and community.
- Proven experience with website, graphic design, and video editing platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Social Media platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to initiate, prioritize, follow through on projects, and work independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing, and interpersonal skills with a robust ability to anticipate the needs of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with a variety of people; personal demeanor which is mature, courteous, cheerful, and gracious.
- Strong interest in entrepreneurial work. Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial endeavors preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a high-quality service environment, building professional relationships, celebrating others, and collaboratively producing high-quality content.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to lift/transport boxes of approximately thirty (30) pounds.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and climb steps and stairs.
- Must have reliable transportation to transport self to various locations for work.
