Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Program and Portfolio management will be responsible for the overall Digital Technology Roadmap and Key Initiatives.
Essential Functions:

Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate

Perform assessments through fact-finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations by working with Vendors
-
Drive Vendor Management Process and Governance around critical initiatives.

Provide industry-leading portfolio management expertise to support successful portfolio prioritization and dependency management across the ministry through both established and innovative tools, techniques, and frameworks

Partner with internal and external experts to understand the Ministry’s current state of portfolio management, build the future state, and craft critical enablers to make it stick

Support the enterprise in setting the decision criteria and portfolio prioritization process to deliver the Ministry transformation portfolio, enabling a more efficient and effective resource allocation, including coordinating local program teams across the organization

Partner with a different team (Regional teams, Digital, Marketing, and Content) to define future change and transformation efforts, as well as critical elements for success

Report at a leadership level the overall status of critical initiatives and Frequently switch gears between design thinking and rapid execution

The ability look for technical dependencies while evaluating plans and programs is key
-
The role starts as an individual contributor and would have 1-2 reportees eventually.
Study or Knowledge and Experience:
-
Master’s degree in Computer Science(desirable, not mandatory) Business Engineering (or equivalent experience), and management experience in a similar position.

Experience defining and leading portfolio management approaches in complex change environments; demonstrated success in delivering high-quality and sustained adoption across complicated organizations
-
Experience in Salesforce Implementation and Mobile /Web apps would be desired
-
Proven track record on vendor management and outsourcing.

7+ years of relevant experience in corporate transformation office, program and portfolio management, transformation consulting, or a related field
-
Previous experience leading and managing resources with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop talent
-
Proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions
-
Experience implementing enterprise-wide portfolio management systems and process
-
A business-focused, proactive, and intellectually curious attitude to portfolio management
-
Experience supporting, influencing, and presenting across organizations (from business leaders to entry-level teams) to drive decision making
-
Knowledge of Agile Concepts would be an added advantage
-
Strive to live a life consistent with Biblical principles and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development.
Internal Communication Requirements:
-
Communicate strategies, principles, impacts and opportunities at the executive team level.

Additionally, there will be widespread communication with all work teams, including those with differing cultures, physical locations and time zones.

Subjects may be of a complex or technical nature.

Must be able to bridge terminology gaps between technical subjects and non-technical users both in written and verbal form.
External Communication Requirements:

Regular high level communication with vendors that requires tact and discretion.
Leadership Responsibility:
-
Supports the overall effectiveness of information systems and project management efforts for the ministry.
Stewardship of Resources:
-
Ensures that the development of the Information Services budget is accurate and thorough in identifying the resources needed to accomplish objectives.
Miscellaneous Factors:
-
Being available at the Grand Rapids office as defined by the CTO (mostly once in two months would be desirable)

Overseas travel will be required.
