Residential Home Manager – High Behavioral Home
Grand Rapids, MI | Full-Time | $48,000 Annually
Seeking a dedicated and confident Residential Home Manager to oversee a high behavioral home supporting one adult resident in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, highly organized, and passionate about providing person-centered, trauma-informed care.
Position overview
– Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of a single-resident, high behavioral home.
– Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment that promotes dignity, choice, and stability.
– Work at least 35 hours per week of in-person shift coverage and 5 hours weekly of indirect time for scheduling and administrative duties, plus participation in a mandatory on-call rotation.
Key responsibilities
– Manage and support existing team members, including supervision, coaching, and performance feedback.
– Oversee staff scheduling, ensure adequate coverage, and coordinate a fair on-call rotation.
– Manage the on-call staff team and be ultimately responsible for filling schedule gaps when shifts cannot be covered, including stepping in personally when necessary.
– Assist with community outings when 2:1 staffing is required, providing direct support alongside other team members to ensure safety and engagement.
– Assist with daily living tasks, including grocery shopping and meal preparation, to support the resident’s nutritional needs and independence.
– Coordinate and track staff trainings; ensure completion of required certifications.
– Oversee and complete documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and compliance-related records.
– Manage medications in accordance with agency policy and regulatory standards, including documentation and oversight of medication administration.
– Implement and monitor behavior support plans and crisis strategies in collaboration with clinical professionals.
Qualifications
– Experience in residential services is required.
– Experience in behavioral health is required.
– Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solutions-focused in high-stress situations.
– Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
– Reliable transportation and willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Compensation and benefits
Annual salary of $48,000
