Position Summary:

Provide overall support and management of departmental communication, key schedules for Publisher and Publishing Department, and process management related to author communication and title alignment. 

 

Essential Functions:

1.    Assist the Publisher and Vice President of Publishing including travel arrangements and interdepartmental meetings, etc., as needed.  

2.    Manage departmental reporting on activities related to key meetings, events, and other publishing activities determined by the Publisher. 

3.    Manage ODBP (Our Daily Bread Publishing) and ODBM (Our Daily Bread Ministries) author relations. 

4.    Information gathering and synthesis including review, analyze, and summarize internal reports, information, and meeting minutes for Publisher. 

5.    Plan and implement staff development and continuous improvement initiatives at the direction of the Publisher, including training opportunities, off-site meetings, and conferences. 

6.    Act as the communication liaison and coordinate with global publishing staff and Oswald Chambers Publications Association.

7.    Handle all day-to-day administrative matters for all ODBM Publishing Teams, including departmental office supplies, printer, IS (Information Security) needs, and library management.  

 

Additional Functions:

1.    Logistics coordination for author conference(s) every 2-3 years.

2.    Team hospitality (business lunches, birthday/anniversary celebrations, thank you lunches for other teams, etc.). 

 

Study or Knowledge and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Communication or related field, or equivalent experience.

    Three years’ experience in Publishing or related field.

    Demonstrated ability in Project Management.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Detailed and strong organization skills.

    Strive to live a life consistent with Biblical principles, engaged with the Bible on a consistent basis and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development. 

 

Internal Work Environment:

Communication with teams, leaders, executive office, and various work teams and individuals relating to publishing and administrative functions of Publishing Teams. Communication will be frequent and may be complex and confidential.

 

External Communication Requirements:

Frequent communication with authors, and global offices. Communication may be technical, sensitive, or complex.

Not applicable.

Minimal impact on resources.
