EMPLOYER
Buttonwood Capital Management (“BCM” or the “Company”) is a family office dedicated to stewarding the resources of its founding family and their descendants (together, the “Families”) by providing personalized administrative support, bespoke financial advice and investment execution.
ROLE
The Property Supervisor will coordinate with the Properties Manager in overseeing and completing various tasks related to the maintenance of a private estate with working farm, including minor repairs, overseeing projects, groundskeeping, completing errands, and contributing to the clean, well-kept appearance of the estate. As additional properties are brought under scope of service of BCM, the Property Supervisor will assist in supporting those locations.
The Property Supervisor role is a full-time, salary-exempt position. The primary work location for this position is on-site at the private estate located in Ada, MI. Short duration travel will be required regionally, nationally, and, on occasion, internationally on a periodic basis to oversee additional commonly owned properties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Property Supervisor’s primary responsibilities are to coordinate and oversee staff in executing tasks related to household and grounds maintenance (listed below) and serving as a backup in completing these tasks as needed.
Household Maintenance
· Conduct regular and in-depth maintenance inspections throughout the residence and property, reporting and responding to findings as appropriate. This includes:
o Identify and trouble shoot problems and issues
o Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance
o Source competitive bids for projects as required
o Coordinate and oversee major repairs with appropriate contractors, ensuring successful and satisfactory completion
· Maintain stock of supplies such as light bulbs, cleaning supplies, batteries, and other miscellaneous replacement/repair items
· Develop intimate working knowledge and maintenance of all household systems (phones, HVAC, interior/exterior lighting, appliances, recreational and exercise equipment, generators, plumbing, and others)
· Keep accurate record of maintenance tasks
· Arrange and monitor regular services such as trash removal, pool mechanical maintenance, carpet cleaning, window washing, painting, exterminators, and other building and property interior and exterior services as needed
· Inspect house and other building exteriors, including painted surfaces, porches, patios, fireplaces, etc., cleaning as needed or assessing repair needs
· Organize and clean garages, attics, outdoor storage areas, and maintenance office
· Perform janitorial duties as necessary
· Gather mail and distribute appropriately, receiving and signing for delivered packages as necessary
Grounds Maintenance
· Conduct regular and in-depth inspections of the grounds, including lawn, landscaping, sprinkler systems, walkways, pool, and ponds. Report and respond to findings as appropriate, including:
o Identify and trouble shoot problems and issues
o Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance
o Source competitive bids for projects as required
o Coordinate and oversee major repairs with appropriate contractors, ensuring successful and satisfactory completion
· Maintain and clean outdoor fixtures, including eaves, troughs, flag poles, light fixtures, etc.
· Ensure driveways and walkways are kept in a safe condition, including snow and ice removal
· Maintain grounds equipment, such as tractors, bobcats, mowers, etc., including small engine and oil level maintenance and keeping propane fuel tanks full
· Ensure recreational equipment is ready for use at all times, making necessary repairs or disposing and replacing items as needed
· Clean automobile interior and exteriors, maintaining fuel levels and tracking repair requirements
· Maintain service records and proper paperwork, such as registrations, insurance, etc., for all vehicles
· Ensure health and vitality of farm grounds at all times
· Care for all farm animals, including:
· Ensure proper feedings
· Maintain cleanliness of cages and litter boxes
· Gather chicken eggs and collect goat milk, delivering to family
· Schedule and transport animals to veterinarian appointments as needed
Other Responsibilities
· Perform special projects and request of head(s) of household, such as holiday decorating, errands, preparations for special events, and others
· Assist Properties Manager in overseeing and managing other household and property employees and contractors, including training, developing, and mentoring staff
· Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing special events held on the property
· Assist other household staff as needed on a priority basis, including moving furniture, heavy objects, an other special projects
REQUIREMENTS
· General mechanical knowledge and basic skill level in trades such as HVAC, plumbing, appliances, painting, small engines, etc.
· Previous landscaping/grounds experience, including knowledge regarding proper care and maintenance of lawn, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.
· Previous supervisory experience preferred
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, approaching all interactions with a servant’s heart
· High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through of daily routines
· Ability to maintain a highly productive work output without immediate supervision
· Ability to lift 30 pounds to a maximum height of 6 feet, including occasional lifting up to 80 pounds
· Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing and walking on feet for lengthy periods of time
· Ability to safely operate power machinery and lawn care tools such as mowers, edgers, clippers, Bobcat, snow plow, etc.
· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
· Limited travel required

· Responsibilities of the Property Caretaker are conducted in a private residence. While an employer/employee relationship exists, it is important the employee is genuinely committed to the goal of the household staff team in positively contributing to a Christian home environment.
