Preschool Teacher Aide

 

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15/hour

 

Little Lambs Parent Co-operative Preschool in Caledonia, Michigan is searching for a teacher aide.  We are a small Christian CO-OP that was started in 1977 that allows parents to gain insight into child behavior by observing other children as well as their own in the classroom setting. We are run entirely by a volunteer parent school board. Teacher aides play a crucial role in nurturing the early education of children at Little Lambs. This role demands a compassionate individual with a genuine affection for children who can demonstrate empathy within a small christian learning setting. Teacher Aides duties encompass serving as a positive role model along with prioritizing the social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child, while ensuring their safety and well-being. At Little Lambs, teacher aides work very closely with the lead teacher, the school board, and parents.

Hours:

Monday: 8:30-12:30

Tuesday: 8:30-12

Wednesday: 8:30-12:30

Thursday: 8:30-12

Friday: 8:30-12:30

Qualifications:

1) 21 years old or older

2) High School Diploma or GED

3)Pass a background check

 

Teacher Aide Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with the lead teacher to prepare children for school academically and socially

– Assist in implementing the developed curriculum by instructing students using the lesson plans and coursework materials provided

– Work along side lead teacher to supervise activities in the classroom and ensure the safety of all students

-Complete16 hours of annual training in addition to blood borne pathogen, CPR and first aid training. Training hours may include conferences, seminars and workshops

-Maintaining communication with parents, staff and faculty regarding the progress of students

-Possible light cleaning at the end of the school day.
