CURE International is seeking applicants for an opportunity as a Marketing & Events Coordinator at our Mission Support Center located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Events Manager in the planning and execution of all CURE events and marketing initiatives in conjunction with the organization’s plans, goals, and priorities. Events may include but are not limited to our annual major donor event, virtual events, vision trips, regional fundraising events, golf fundraising events, board meetings and community engagement events (PR, ‘walk-a-thon’, etc.). The Marketing and Events Coordinator will also assist with marketing initiatives including fundraising campaigns, direct mail appeals, and departmental support. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Assist Marketing and Events Manager with the logistics for donor events (large-scale and smaller regional events).
  2. Internal coordination of affiliate events, including but not limited to, speaking engagements, concert tours with artists, promotions, and events related to ambassadors for CURE.
  3. Volunteer recruitment for events and functions.
  4. Collaborate with other internal teams and departments for events.
  5. Coordinate registration process for event participants.
  6. Coordinate transportation for guests, attendees, speakers, or other parties.
  7. Manage events calendar and scheduling system.
  8. Schedule marketing meetings and presentations.
  9. Work with vendors to source quotes for marketing materials. 
  10. Analyze metrics and data in order to make recommendations for future campaigns.
  11. Coordinate the delivery of collateral materials to the donor relations officers.

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Participate in organizational staff meetings as directed. 
  2. Manage the inventory and supply of CURE promotional merchandise for events. 
  3. Maintain current knowledge of event planning standards and trends by attending seminars, consulting with other professionals, and reading trade publications.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s or Associate degree in communication, marketing, event management, or similar field, or equivalent amount of related experience. 
  2. Minimum (1-3) years experience in a role demonstrating administrative oversight, team-oriented support, project management and/or business administration. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and inter-departmentally, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). 
  2. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  3. Superior organizational skills necessary to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. 
  4. Willingness to travel to and assist in the execution of complex events. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, maintain composure under high pressure situations, and implement proactive problem-solving skills. 
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications/Google Docs.
