Marketing - Full-time

Position title: Marketing Coordinator

Position type: Temp to hire (full-time, hourly)

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Marketing Director

Basic function of position: The Marketing Coordinator develops marketing materials, provides communications support, and assists with maintaining consistency in the messaging of Alpha Grand Rapids (AGR) to diverse audiences.

Major Duties and Responsibilities


·         Assists with the development of marketing materials (brochures, event invitations, newsletters, annual reports, etc.)

·         Creates internal marketing pieces to advertise to AGR clients, volunteers, and partner organizations

·         Coordinates marketing projects with external agencies and/or individuals when necessary

·         Works with the Marketing Director and Executive Director to establish a yearly calendar of marketing projects

·         Maintains the yearly schedule of marketing projects and communicates upcoming deadlines and projects to other AGR employees

·         Works with the Marketing Director to maintain AGR social media accounts, create and send email communications, and update the AGR website


·         Provides support for AGR event planning and logistics

·         Assists administrative volunteers as needed

·         Promotes and attends all AGR events

·         Participates in all required staff meetings

·         Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications for the Position

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design

Prior work experience: Past experience with marketing, graphic design, or administration preferred

Language proficiency

·         English required

·         Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable

Skills and abilities

·         Strong organizational and administrative skills

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·         Some knowledge, with willingness to become proficient in, design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Creativity and high attention to detail

·         Knowledge and experience in photography

·         Ability to interact well with both individuals and groups from a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds

·         Ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once, manage time well, and take initiative

·         Committed Christian who faithfully attends a local church

Exercise of judgment: Works closely with the Marketing Director and Marketing team while still using independent judgment on projects

Nature and level of contacts: Employees, volunteers, donors, clients, and the general public

Supervision exercised: None

Time to perform full range of duties after entry into the position: Six months
