The Opportunity
The Law Clerk will support our dynamic Legal Services team by performing research, assisting with transactions, and supporting the legal needs of business and philanthropic efforts. This internship offers a unique chance for a current law student to gain valuable firsthand experience in the world of family office legal affairs and related businesses.
Location and Hours
This position will be located downtown Grand Rapids, MI. We are looking for a candidate who can work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the summer months (May – August).

What You’ll Do
- Conduct legal research and analysis on a broad variety of assigned topics.
- Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and presentations.
- Assist with due diligence processes and transaction closings.
- Prepare document templates.
- Proofreading.
- Shadow attorneys in meetings with clients and participate in internal legal discussions.
- Stay informed about current legal developments relevant to the family office industry.
- Assist with legal needs for family-related businesses and philanthropic efforts.
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

- Previous office environment experience preferred.
- Discretion in handling sensitive, highly confidential information.
- Pursuing a Juris Doctor; first or second-year law student preferred.
