CURE International is seeking a Global Director of Grants and Foundation Relations at our Mission Support Center located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A hybrid option may be available. The Global Director of Grants and Foundation Relations will provide leadership to the Grants Team and develop strategies to thoughtfully sustain and grow CURE’s foundation relationships and strategic partnerships to advance the mission of CURE, to serve more children. Directly supervises the Grants Manager, Grants Program Manager and Grants Coordinator(s). 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Team Management and Leadership

  1. Provide leadership and management to a multi-disciplinary team working within tight deadlines. 
  2. Develop department goals and track progress, being accountable for results.
  3. Ensure the flow of information through to the team for alignment with organizational funding priorities.
  4. Maintains quality control and provides a formal review of all outgoing grants/proposals.
  5. Develops intentional professional development priorities for team members and department capacity building. 

Grants Management and Foundation Relations

  1. Oversee the development, timeline concepts, and quality of reports and proposals.
  2. Thoughtfully manage donor relationships, implementing specific engagement plans for each.
  3. Maintain revenue forecasting for accounts under management.
  4. Monitor and manage designated funding spend-down and grant milestone deliverables.
  5. Manage multiple USAID/ASHA construction and commodities grants, including detailed reporting 
  6. Grow gifts-in-kind program to improve CURE stewardship, including USAID’s LEPP and partnerships with industry.
  7. Increase the number of foundations supporting CURE through prospect research and relationship development.
  8. Prepare and deliver presentations as needed. 
  9. Support hospital-based grants and proposals as requested.  

Strategic Partnerships

  1. Engage with multilateral agencies for the promotion of global surgery and healthcare missions and to explore potential funding/partnership opportunities.
  2. Maintain and grow strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations to expand CURE services and enhance CURE’s mission. 
  3. Develop strategic partnership proposals for key initiatives of mutual interest. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  1. Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in grants management is required. USAID grants management preferred. 
  3. A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing personnel.
  4. Experience in program design, budgeting, and proposal development. 
  5. Experience with global health. Experience with global surgery, preferred. 
  6. International non-profit experience strongly preferred.
  7. Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  8. Strong research, analytical (especially quantitative), and budget development skills.
  9. Ability to manage time and multiple projects effectively to meet ambitious internal and external deadlines in a timely manner.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well collaboratively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  11. Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects.
  12. Strong command of written and verbal communication.
  13. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  14. Good understanding of the organization’s overall mission and its objectives.
  15. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
