Now Hiring – House Parents (Seeking married Christian couples)
Have you ever considered working in the mission field in your own backyard? We have aged-out, foster youth who need your help. Grant Me Hope, a Holland, MI based 501(c)(3), is hiring House Parents for each of our 3 West MI homes which house aged-out foster children who were never adopted and had nowhere to go.
Many of these young people have experienced a host of hardships including the effects of complex trauma, abandonment, and attachment, issues. While House Parents do not replace a child’s biological parent, nor are they a foster or potential adoptive parent, they are often the first or only example of stability and security for the children in their care.
This is a full-time, live-in position and will not work for those who currently have children living with them.
In addition to providing a safe, stable, loving, family-type environment, House Parents will provide our program participants with Christian discipleship, valuable mentoring, and life-skills training necessary for successful independent living (budgeting, interviewing skills, job training, cooking, cleaning, obtaining a driver’s license, etc.). Experience working with complex trauma is helpful, however, training will be provided.
This is an ideal position for empty nesters, or couples with experience in foster care, student or young adult ministry, or who’ve raised teenagers of their own. If you are a committed Christ follower with a passion for foster children or the homeless, this is the calling for you!
