Job Title: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

Reporting Relationship: Chief Financial Officer

Required Hours: Part time; 16-24 hours per week (Hourly, Exempt)

Primary Responsibilities: The Finance Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This individual manages financial processes including revenue, disbursements, and payroll and prepares monthly financial statements. This individual also supports the CFO by assisting with a variety of finance-related tasks including insurance, employment administration, and financial support of fundraising efforts. This position requires some flexibility based on seasonal workload.

Specific Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Monitor daily financial transactions and activity

  • Prepare monthly financial statements: post entries, review general ledger and budget to actual reports

  • Maintain proper documentation of all accounting transactions and journal entries

  • Review revenue: review daily income reports, review and post gifts in donor database, record other income

  • Review accounts payable: approve regular invoices, review and approve weekly disbursements, review credit card reports

  • Review payroll: review employment changes, review and approve payroll following applicable HR policies

  • Assist with annual budget preparation

  • Work with audit firm to complete annual audit

  • Assist with preparation of Form 990

  • Monitor financial policies and recommend changes as needed

  • Prepare government and licensing reports

  • Provide cost analysis to department directors as needed

  • Maintain the donor database and assist with reporting

  • Participate in fundraising event administration

Other:

  • Maintain insurance coverage and handle claims

  • Monitor and respond to Michigan UIA claims

  • Assist with human resource tasks as needed

  • Represent the PRC at community and networking functions as requested

  • Attend all-staff meetings, PRC Prayer Summit, and other all-staff events as requested

  • Other special projects as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required with at least 5 years of experience in a finance role; CPA experience a plus

  • Expertise in Excel with knowledge of advanced features

  • High attention to detail

  • High level of accuracy

  • Expertise in analytical processes

  • Ability to be flexible (work load varies; some weeks 16 hours, some weeks 24 hours plus)

  • Able to learn, teach, and inform

  • Ability to remain focused and calm under pressure of multiple tasks and interruptions

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive data
