Administrative / Office Management / Clerical - Part-time
The Data Entry Technician (DET) is responsible for efficiently and accurately entering data from incoming fluid samples, fluid tests, and more. The DET will receive incoming shipments of fluid samples, open shipments, enter sample information into the database, and clean/prep samples for the laboratory. The DET will have administrative and customer support duties. The DET will also provide basic support for laboratory technicians.
Apex Oil Lab is a locally owned oil analysis laboratory offering testing for new and used lubricants for maintenance and reliability purposes. We assist companies in industries such as Automotive, Manufacturing, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Construction, and Power Generation. To provide exceptional customer service and meet daily goals, every team member (including ownership) collaborates and supports each other.
Position Type: Part-Time (Monday – Friday, approx 25hr/week)
Responsibilities:
- Follow operating procedures precisely and consistently as outlined by management.
- Receive incoming fluid samples: receive shipments, open shipments, clean and prepare samples for laboratory.
- Enter customer and sample information into database efficiently and accurately to meet daily goals.
- Transfer data from hard copy to database
- Verify data
- Review, correct, delete information to maintain accuracy in database
- Communicate professionally with customers via email and phone.
- Provide excellent customer support.
- Enter larger amounts of data from test results and spreadsheets
- Provide basic support for laboratory team
Qualifications:
- Prior data entry experience (10-key preferred)
- Strong focus on details.
- Excellent typing skills (fast and accurate)
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Energetic and enjoys working on a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoy providing excellent customer support
- Willing to work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to petroleum products, fumes, odors, mists, and dusts.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task to manage continuous workflow.
- Ability to work with sufficient speed, accuracy, and attention to detail to perform job functions as required.
- Proficient on PC, including MS Office and database programs.
- Flexibility as shift hours may vary.
NOTE: We are seeking applicants for a long term commitment. We are an OIL ANALYSIS LAB. We are NOT seeking applicants seeking to further a computer/IT or medical/health related career.
