Custodian – Early Morning

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various areas of our campus, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Hours: Part time, M-F, 6-10 am (preferred) or 5-9am. Potential for extra hours on occasion.

Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including use of auto-scrubber is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning and upkeep of various areas and surfaces including sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, and refilling supplies.
• Responding promptly to any urgent situations that require quick action.
• Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment
• Collecting and removing trash
• Performing outdoor tasks such as grounds clean up and snow removal
• Performing setup/teardown of furniture associated with events
• Other duties as assigned

This position is physically demanding and fast paced. Extra hours may be available.
