POSITION OVERVIEW

The HR Operations Specialist supports the day‑to‑day effectiveness of CURE’s Human Resources function by overseeing US payroll administration, assisting with employee benefits, managing HRIS updates and special projects, coordinating US leave programs, and providing high‑quality operational support across the HR team. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and efficient HR processes that strengthen the employee experience and support organizational operations. There is opportunity to grow skills in the role through working on global HR projects, particularly in the areas of compensation, benefits, HR policy development, and digital HR systems enhancement.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, maintains strict confidentiality, possesses strong analytical skills, and enjoys providing excellent customer service to employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Payroll Administration
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for US co-workers.  Over time, could support international payroll.
  • Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, and deductions.
  • Audit payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies prior to processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Monitor federal and state payroll tax regulations and ensure timely implementation of required updates.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions regarding wages, taxes, deductions, and direct deposit.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs.
  • Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions.
  • Assist with coordinating annual Open Enrollment, including employee communication and education.
  • Assist with benefits compliance, including ACA reporting and required employee notices.
HRIS & Special Projects
  • Maintain employee data within HRIS and ensure data integrity.
  • Support HRIS enhancements, testing, and system updates.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects to improve HR processes and workflows.
  • Ensure personnel files and payroll records remain accurate and confidential.
  • Assist with onboarding and off boarding processes as they relate to payroll and benefits.
  • Prepare employment verification requests and other HR documentation.
Prepare & analyze employee and compensation data in support of projects.
Leave Administration
  • Administer Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave programs.
  • Communicate with employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes.
  • Administer additional leave types such as parental leave, bereavement, military leave, jury duty, and organizational paid/unpaid leave programs.
  • Support international leave programs, including professional development leave, in alignment with organizational policy and country‑specific requirements.
  • Maintain accurate leave records and ensure legal compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience required.
  • Experience administering employee benefit programs.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll software required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred.
  • Experience with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation) preferred
