Supervisor: Kitchen Manager

Pay Range: $18

Hours: 40 hours per week (Days and times will very and will include 1 or 2 weekend shifts.) 

Exodus Place – Michigan’s largest nonprofit transitional housing program for men coming from homelessness, incarceration and other life challenges – is seeking an energetic, reliable individual with commercial kitchen experience. This individual will work as a team with the Exodus Place kitchen staff adhering to the standards and culture of the Exodus Place Community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answer, report and follow Managers’ instructions.

• Prep, cook and meals.

• Responsible for cleaning kitchen cooking area post mealtime

• Knowledge and flexibility to work at several different stations.

• Ability to keep workstations stocked, prepared and clean.

• Has knowledge of common dietary restrictions and cold tray assembly.

• Ability to present a friendly demeanor to fellow staff and members.

• Assist in unloading trucks and food storage.

• Assist with inventory and organization of food storage areas.

• Handle the record keeping and preparation of carry out meal trays.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• ServSafe Certified a plus.

• Knowledge of using commercial grade appliances.

• Ability to follow recipes and menus.

• Must be knowledgeable of portion control and quality assurance.

• Must be a strong communicator.
