Communications - Intern

The Opportunity

The selected individual will work as part of the RDV Communications team to assist with the creation and implementation of communications strategies and tactics in support of RDV Corporation, its partners, its executives, and its owners. In addition, the Communications Intern will assist with select administrative needs of the Communications team.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, energized by variety in their workday, dedicated to presenting high-quality work and customer service, and curious about business, community, policy and more. 

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborates with the RDV Communications team to develop online content, help manage and populate digital platforms and work with internal teams on related content efforts.
  • Conducts secondary research, helps implement search engine optimization tactics, and manages written content development and internal distribution.
  • Helps leverage existing news and social media monitoring program with implementation of growing project tracking.
  • Conducts daily issues management efforts, including monitoring, material development, file management, and timely reporting on noteworthy items.
  • Provides writing services, including talking points, social media posts, press releases, news-style articles and reports.
  • Assists with digital asset building and content design, including web, social, and presentations – design experience (usage of tools such as Canva, Adobe, etc.) a plus.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of communications projects of all sizes.
  • Assists with video shoots and audio content development as well as review and editing.

What You’ll Bring

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, marketing, communications or a related field – Junior or Senior preferred.
  • Demonstration of written capabilities through work, internship, and/or college related experiences.
  • A curious approach to communications strategy.
  • Understanding of Microsoft programs including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide insights and thoughtful questions with a strong “roll up your sleeves to get the job done” mindset.
  • Knowledge and experience with various storytelling and monitoring platforms.
  • Excellent communications skills across a variety of mediums (written, visual, verbal and presentation).
  • Strong judgement and comfort-level working with confidential, sensitive and proprietary information, as well as an uncompromised commitment to the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated and ability to also work collaboratively, with a passion and willingness to expand knowledge.
  • A desire to research, learn about new things and identify creative solutions.
