Job Title: Church and Ministry Account Manager  

Longevity Requirement: 2 years 

Position Summary 

The Church and Ministry Account Manager at Our Daily Bread Ministries plays a vital role in supporting the church and ministry sector by offering resources tailored to meet the unique needs of both new and existing accounts. This position involves building and nurturing relationships with church and ministry partners, effectively communicating and promoting Our Daily Bread Ministries (ODBM) resources, with a focus on Our Daily Bread Publishing (ODBP) products. The manager will act as a key liaison between ODBP and the church and ministry community, providing valuable insights into the latest ODBP releases, as well as offering guidance on key ODBP backlist titles, Bibles, Bible studies, and other essential ODBM resources. 

 

Essential Functions 

  1. Cultivate, expand, and maintain strong relationships with churches, ensuring they are equipped with the resources necessary to foster deeper Bible engagement among their members. Engage with key stakeholders to demonstrate the value and benefits of ODBP books, Bibles, Bible studies, and other relevant ODBM resources. 
  2. Collaborate with finance, publishing, and marketing teams to assess the current state of the church sales channel and develop a comprehensive, strategic sales plan designed to drive revenue growth. Ensure the plan is measurable, scalable, and effectively implemented.
  3. Develop and deliver presentations that highlight the distinctive features and benefits of the ODBP product catalog and other ministry resources. Utilize multimedia tools to effectively communicate the advantages of these offerings.
  4. Partner with the ODBP, Church Engagement, and Marketing teams to create impactful marketing strategies and campaigns that increase brand visibility and generate new sales opportunities.
  5. Support projects aimed at increasing Bible engagement across multiple platforms and raising awareness of ODBM’s extensive content portfolio, with a particular focus on ODBP products. Provide valuable insights to marketing, publishing, and media teams regarding target markets, customer preferences, and emerging trends.
  6. Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and stay informed about industry developments to identify new sales opportunities and tailor approaches to customer needs.
  7. Foster a high-performance culture centered on continuous improvement, learning, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the role.
  8. Provide additional support to the Senior Director of Partnerships, Brand Marketing, and Distribution, managing special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Job Specifications  

Study or Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field is required. 
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a sales role. Specific experience in church and/or ministry relationship building and product sales is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in mining an expansive contact list to develop a strategy that establishes and grows relationships while driving measurable results to advance an organization’s mission and goals around fueling a global Bible engagement movement.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and show initiative in dealing with other individuals/groups/vendors.
  • Strong understanding of analytics and technology as it interfaces and impacts growth strategies. 
  • A proven and high level of digital and traditional marketing and sales competencies and best practices are a must.
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional, positive, collaborative, results-oriented and energetic team member.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and external contacts.
  • Must be capable of coordinating multiple sales efforts and track details of many simultaneous projects.
  • Strive to live a life consistent with biblical principles, engaged with the Bible on a consistent basis and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development.

 

Internal Work Environment 

Must be capable of diplomatic partnership style of communication with the assigned ministry effort team(s). Excellent and diplomatic oral/written communication required.  

Persuasion, discretion, and tact are needed to educate and gain support regarding sales efforts with colleagues, fellow team members, and/or groups throughout the organization.  

External Work Environment 

High degree of communication required in networking with other ministries, churches, organizations, and vendors. Professionalism, tact, and persuasion required. Responsible for decisions that will affect how our public views ODBM and ODBP. 

Leadership Responsibilities 

Able to lead with excellence and provide explanation of sales efforts to involved departments/individuals so that all involved fully understand sales goals, expected results, and required services. Provide direction and clarity on decisions affecting publishing, marketing, and other teams regarding scheduling and other related needs.  

 

Stewardship of Resources 

Responsible for the continued expansion of US church and ministry sales to achieve the strategic goals of developing strong relationships with ministries and churches that will drive deeper Bible engagement, as well as sales and distribution opportunities.  

 

Miscellaneous:  

Some domestic travel required.
