Building/Construction - Full-time
1. measure a site for estimating
2. measure materials for assembly and installation
3. prepare site
4. adjust grading
5. select beautiful and quality materials fit for the site
6. plan layout
7. cut stone and brick
8. place large rock materials
9. create pondless water features, firepits, boulder walls, patios, walkways, etc.
10. plan materials
11. review design prints to determine materials and machinery
12. operate machinery
13. excavate sites with precision
14. prepare a site for work
15. select bonding agents and sealants for function and beauty
16. remove damaged materials and repair
17. perform work with precision, pride, and efficiency for the benefit of clients
18. plan hardscaping within the context of complimenting softscape
Requirements:
§ demonstrated enjoyment of manual labor
§ long-term commitment to apprenticeship
§ professional references
§ eagerness to learn and apply concepts
§ ability to lift/push/pull at least 100 pounds
§ desire to work on a team as well as independently
§ willingness to work in various Michigan weather
§ valid driver’s license and clean driving record
§ availability Monday – Friday between 7am – 5pm for at least 20 hours/week.
§ reliable transportation
PAY:
Apprenticeship is paid starting at $16/hour with performance-based $1/hour increases starting as soon as 90 days in. Other benefits include:
– 1.5x paid daily over 10 hrs/40 hrs in a week
