Text: Revelation 3.20

Throughout the Found series Jeff Manion, senior teaching pastor, addressed the capacity we all have for getting lost and our need to be found by Jesus. However, the Jesus we’re looking for may not be the Jesus who’s looking for us. Jesus is on a “search and rescue” mission not only for the prodigal sons, the lowly prostitutes, and the oppressive Romans from “Caesarville,” but also for the arrogant older brothers and for all the “good” people of Ada Bible Church.

Jesus is on a search and rescue mission for you. In one simple phrase, “Here I am!” Jesus assures you he is alive, he is God, and he stands at the door of your heart and knocks (Revelation 3.20). You have a choice: when you hear his voice will you welcome him in? He will come to the door of your heart, he will knock, he will come in and he will eat with you. All you have to do is open the door.

Reflect on the characters in the Found series: Nicodemus, the woman at the well, the younger brother, the older brother, the woman with the perfume, the tax collector, the Pharisee, and Zacchaeus. Journal about the one you most closely identify with and what it would take for you to open the door of your heart to Jesus. If you are unsure how to open your heart, please connect with someone from Ada Bible Church by filling out the form at adabible.org/found.
