The Bread of Life

The crowd tracks Jesus around the Sea of Galilee, buzzing with excitement and expectation. The day before, Jesus fed five thousand people with just five loaves and two fish on a hillside (John 6:1-14). They are hungry again and want a miracle worker to keep their stomachs satisfied. When Jesus tells them he is the bread of life, that he himself is what they need, many turn and walk away. He offers something greater than physical bread.
