Life for Others
#AdaWisdomChallenge
READ Proverbs 8 (listen). WRITE out one verse and SHARE with someone.
Proverbs 8 is part of the nine lessons that open the book (Proverbs 1-9). In this chapter, woman wisdom calls out directly, in contrast to the previous chapter where folly attempts to seduce. The section concludes in chapter 9 with a direct comparison between the invitation of wisdom and folly.

TODAY'S MESSAGE
Life isn’t just about us. Proverbs teaches us it’s ultimately about God and how he wants us to live. He desires to be known by all people and wants to use his followers to draw others to him. God tells the nation of Israel, “Observe [my laws] carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people,’” (Deuteronomy 4:6).
It's the same for us today. As a result of trusting Jesus as our Savior and obeying God, our friends, relatives and neighbors should see our lives and ask, “Wait, what is going on over there?” The way we meet the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis—navigating hardship, job loss, uncertainty, and living with a purpose when it feels like the world is falling apart—should shine like a beacon. Life on the path of godly wisdom is a fountain of life to those who have lost their way.
IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY
Today pray, “Father God, help me be a fountain of life to those who are seeking or don’t know you. Help me during this health crisis to live my life respecting and worshipping you through my words, behaviors and actions. When I speak, help me be positive, not negative. Bring to my mind people living alone or hurting who need a phone call or a note of encouragement. Amen.”
