THREE THINGS TO KNOW
DON’T MISS THIS. The resurrection of Jesus changes everything. It means the grave isn’t the end. It means forgiveness is real. It means the life you were made for is available—right now, through Jesus. Come celebrate EASTER WEEKEND with us! On Good Friday, we’ll pause to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice. Through Scripture, worship, and prayer, we’ll remember the significance of what he did for us. Then, on Easter Sunday we’ll celebrate Jesus as the source of life! Learn more and explore service times HERE.
GROUP VALUES. This week we continue our exploration of the value to LOVE BEYOND. Loving beyond our group involves taking advantage of intentional opportunities to share the good news of Jesus’s sacrifice and resurrection. This coming weekend is Easter. As a group, recall people in your extended circle who need to know Christ. Make an invitation this week to have them join you at Easter services. Be sure to take time the following week to debrief any invitations that were made.
GROW AS A LEADER. This week we conclude our series on life and where to find it. Throughout this month, Pastor Jeff has challenged us to identify idols in our lives. An idol is anything we believe we need other than Jesus for a fulfilled and satisfied life. We’ve been challenged to identify, expose, and replace these idols with God’s truth. However, underneath our idols, there might be a belief that requires deeper work. As leaders, we chart territory in our group, and that includes our own healing journey. If you think you might need deeper work, consider reaching out to your Group Life contact for support. We’d be happy to help you process over a care conversation or provide additional resources as needed.
SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE

ICEBREAKER
Share about a time when you experienced or achieved something fulfilling (i.e., a career milestone, a big life event, acquiring something you wanted, etc.). How long did it take for the feeling of satisfaction to wear off?
THIS WEEK’S TEXT
Have someone read John 4:4-15 aloud.
What words or phrases stand out to you from the passage?
Why is it shocking that Jesus is talking to a Samaritan woman?
How does the water that Jesus offers differ from water in the well?
THIS WEEK’S SERMON
Pastor Jeff Manion concluded our series LIFE AND WHERE WE FIND IT by unpacking what it means that Jesus is the water of life. As a group, recall some of the sermon’s big ideas and main points.
Our culture packages and promises fulfillment in many forms. Where do you see people trying to find fulfillment?
Jesus likens himself to a water giver, without whom we couldn’t survive. How does the imagery of water affect the way believers should understand Jesus?
The difference between the good, created things in this world and what Jesus offers is that only he is ultimately satisfying. Why it is important for us to recognize Jesus as our eternal source of fulfillment?
The best shot we have at finding satisfaction in the good things God has created is by finding eternal satisfaction in Jesus first. How can gratitude play a role in developing a satisfied heart?
It’s easy to look to many things other than God for fulfillment and satisfaction. How have you experienced the harmful effects of making something limited your everything?
What is something you are currently using to quench the thirst of your soul?
Every human heart is lost, and Jesus invites everyone to be found at the water. How is your heart doing? What step do you need to take this week to return to God?
WRAP UP
Throughout this month, we have explored Jesus’s teachings on the source of life. He alone is the bread and water of life. Part of following Jesus involves releasing the old methods we’ve used to gain life, trading them for the everlasting fulfillment we have as children of God. As we wrap up our series, what is one key takeaway or question you want to take with you?
