Job Title: Warehouse & Yard Specialist

Reports to: Service & Warehouse Manager / Director of Operations

Department: Warehouse

 

Job Summary: The Warehouse/Yard Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop by ensuring efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials, equipment, and inventory.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Support daily functions including, but not limited to:

  • Receive, stock, and ship incoming/outgoing orders
  • Load and unload freight using a forklift or telehandler
  • Drive shop truck to deliver parts and supplies to customers
  • Detail completed trucks as part of post-service preparation
  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean, tidy, and well-organized
  • Use forklift, Pettibone, or other equipment to transfer materials and machinery
  • Operate facility equipment as necessary for daily operations
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading freight
  • Secure loads for safe transport
  • Organize and track inventory and shop equipment
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision
  • Working knowledge of basic office software (such as Microsoft Office)
  • Working knowledge of company software and procedures
  • Great attitude and ability to work with others
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift and telehandler experience (certification preferred)
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor conditions

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements (representative but not exhaustive):

  • Sitting, crouching, kneeling
  • Manual finger dexterity
  • Heavy lifting; 30 pounds or more
  • Twisting, bending, reaching, and stretching
  • Long periods of standing
  • Exposure to shop noise and dust
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (including THC/marijuana), physical, and background check.
  • Must have a current drivers license to move our vehicles.
  • Must be able to work 7am-5pm shifts Monday through Friday and 7am-11am shifts two Saturdays a month.
