Nanny / Childcare - Full-time

The Opportunity
This position provides exceptional support to parents of young children, with a primary focus on high-quality childcare and fostering a positive, engaging home environment. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating age-appropriate experiences, managing daily routines, and ensuring the children’s safety and well-being. Additional responsibilities include light household tasks and support.

Flexibility and frequent travel with the family, sometimes for extended periods, are required. Duties are performed primarily in the family’s West Michigan residence, however adaptability to changing schedules and locations is essential.

Above all, this role requires a genuine commitment to creating a nurturing, happy environment where the care of the children remains the highest priority.

Hours and Schedule
Beginning May 1, 2026, or earlier, full-time hours would include Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. Flexibility will be necessary in this position, including working outside regular hours, including some weekends, and traveling with the family.

What You’ll Do

Childcare and Development

  • Manage children’s daily schedule and calendar. Coordinate all related logistics such as transportation, activity preparation, packing to/from events, and ensuring timely arrivals/departures.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that foster curiosity, creativity, physical movement, and social-emotional growth.
  • Interact with the children in a cheerful and energetic way through outdoor play and adventures, arts and crafts, games, etc.
  • Provide attentive care and supervision, always ensuring children’s safety and well-being.
  • Demonstrate a genuine love of children. Be a positive role model, always cognizant that young lives are greatly influenced through words and actions.
  • Provide comfort, guidance, warmth and security for the children. Follow parent preferred methods of correction as needed.
  • Promote good communication and a responsiveness (call/text) with parents concerning daily lives of children, exercise open verbal and written communication.
  • Maintain availability for extended solo coverage when parents are traveling, to provide consistency in routines and care.

Household Support

  • Assist with household tasks during children’s naps or downtime, including laundry, folding, kitchen upkeep, meal and snack preparation, organizing.
  • Organize and maintain children’s clothing, toys, and personal items, ensuring closets, play areas, and bedrooms remain tidy and functional.
  • Pack and unpack for children’s travel, ensuring all essentials are prepared and organized.
  • Source, purchase (on-line or in-store) and restock household and child-related items such as supplies and clothing as needed.
  • Retain any applicable receipts for credit card purchases; submit credit card receipts and documentation for reconciliation. Completes online expense reports when needed.
  • Drive children safely and confidently in the family SUV, adhering to all motor vehicle laws and following routes preferred by the parents.
  • Provide care for the family’s 4-year-old golden retriever, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects generally related to the care and wellbeing of the children as requested by the parents.


What You’ll Bring

  • Degree or equivalent experience in education or child development field required; previous nanny experience preferred. 
  • Previous experience planning creative play and learning activities for children.
  • Must be willing to be flexible in work hours during unexpected schedule changes, extended travel periods, and emergency situations; overnights may be requested.
  • Must be a responsible, dedicated, and dependable person of highest integrity; neat and tidy in appearance; organized and reliable; cheerful and positive in attitude; and exhibit pride in service provided.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, technology, and the Internet.  Basic knowledge of Apple and Mac products preferred.
  • The family’s privacy is of critical importance; highest level of confidentiality must be exercised at all times.
