THREE THINGS TO KNOW

DON’T MISS THIS. This week is all about SERVING! There’s no better time to find your place to serve at Ada Bible Church. When we serve together, we experience the joy of being God’s blessing to others while building meaningful relationships with fellow believers. Serving isn’t just about meeting needs—it’s about becoming the generous, grace-filled community God designed us to be. GROUP VALUES. This month, our focus is on PRAYER. Prayer is our lifeline to God and core for our spiritual growth. As we explore what it means to serve one another, remember that effective service flows from a heart connected to God through prayer. Discuss as a group how you could incorporate regular prayer for those you serve and serve alongside as part of your spiritual rhythm this month.

GROW AS A LEADER. Serving together creates powerful bonds within your group. Consider organizing a group service project where members can serve side by side. This could be as simple as preparing a meal for a family in need, participating in a church ministry together or finding a community service opportunity. When group members serve together, they experience firsthand how shared mission creates unity and deepens relationships.

DISCUSSION GUIDE

Welcome to the third week of our sermon series, COURAGEOUS CHURCH. This week, we explore how the early church’s commitment to serving one another resulted in a community that generously met each other’s needs.

ICEBREAKER

What’s the most memorable act of generosity someone has shown you, and how did it impact you?

THIS WEEK’S TEXT

Have someone read Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-37 aloud.

What stands out to you about how the early believers shared their possessions and cared for one another?

What motivated the early Christians to be so generous with their time and resources?

How do you think this kind of generosity impacted both those who gave and those who received?

THIS WEEK’S SERMON

Pastor Aaron Buer continued our sermon series COURAGEOUS CHURCH by examining what motivated the early church to serve one another generously. As a group, recall some of the sermon’s big ideas and main points.

Our culture often promotes the idea of looking out for number one. How does this cultural mindset compare with the biblical call to serve one another?

Pastor Aaron mentioned that God’s incredible grace to us through Jesus should motivate us to extend his grace to others. Who is a good example of extending God’s grace generously toward others? What stands out to you about their life?

What’s the difference between viewing yourself as an “owner” and a “manager” of your possessions, gifts and resources? When do you struggle most to remember this mindset shift?

The early church became “one in heart and mind” because they united around Jesus’s mission. When have you experienced serving alongside other believers strengthening unity and relationships within the church?

Serving is an act of courage that blesses and encourages others. What gifts, skills, experiences or resources has God given you that could be used to bless and encourage others?

What fears or hesitations do you have about serving more generously with those things?

How can we encourage and support each other to grow in generosity and servanthood?

WRAP UP

This week, we learned that God’s grace motivates us to serve others generously. Consider one specific way you could serve within our church this month. What would it look like to take that first step?
