Job Description

General Labor - Full-time

Job Summary:

The Warehouse/Yard Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop by ensuring efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials, equipment, and inventory.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Support daily functions including, but not limited to:

·         Receive, stock, and ship incoming/outgoing orders

·         Load and unload freight using a forklift or telehandler

·         Drive shop truck to deliver parts and supplies to customers

·         Detail completed trucks as part of post-service preparation

·         Keep the warehouse and yard clean, tidy, and well-organized

·         Use forklift, Pettibone, or other equipment to transfer materials and machinery

·         Operate facility equipment as necessary for daily operations

·         Assist customers with loading and unloading freight

·         Secure loads for safe transport

·         Organize and track inventory and shop equipment

·         Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision

·         Working knowledge of basic office software (such as Microsoft Office)

·         Working knowledge of company software and procedures

·         Great attitude and ability to work with others

·         Good communication skills, written and verbal

·         Attention to detail and good organizational skills

·         Valid driver’s license

·         Forklift and telehandler experience (certification preferred)

·         Ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor conditions

 

Education and Experience:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

 

Physical Requirements (representative but not exhaustive):

·         Sitting, crouching, kneeling

·         Manual finger dexterity

·         Heavy lifting; 30 pounds or more

·         Twisting, bending, reaching, and stretching

·         Long periods of standing

·         Exposure to shop noise and dust

·         Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles

·         Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
