Early Childhood Coordinator | South Harbor Church
Purpose
The South Harbor Early Childhood Coordinator will ensure that effective and safe ministries are carried out for children birth to preschool age. These ministries should create a positive first experience in children’s ministries and should nurture and instruct children in their walk with Christ. Using a team approach, the Early Childhood Coordinator will seek to empower and equip volunteers in the spiritual development of children.
Position Responsibilities:

Own leadership role in Early Childhood (including: communication, volunteers, parent relationships, curriculum, events, etc.) to ensure effective ministry.

Serve with the Harbor Kids staff team in the recruiting, training, equipping, and shepherding of volunteers to use their gifts and passion for ministry.

Ensure that ministry is safe, clean and well ordered.

Be present and actively engaged in Harbor Kids on Sunday mornings to ensure that safe, welcoming, and effective ministry occurs.

Promote team building within all volunteer teams within your scope.

Work with the Harbor Kids team to organize, plan and implement events for and/or within our community.

Work with the Harbor Kids team to keep the congregation, church staff and leadership informed of early childhood ministry happenings.

Effectively communicate with parents to foster positive relationships and to further faith formation outside of Sunday mornings.

Work with the Harbor Churches Kids team to prepare age-appropriate preschool curriculum that agrees with Harbor Churches theology and the ability to step in and lead the program as necessary.

Be responsible for operating and working together as a team to stay within the Harbor Kids at South Harbor budget.

Participate in goal and strategy sessions as well as in evaluations of children’s ministries for the purpose of maintaining their relevance to Harbor Church’s mission, vision, and values.

Be an active member of the South Harbor Ministry Staff and the cross campus kids ministry team as well as the broader Harbor Churches multisite network.

Actively participate in continually evaluating and developing Harbor Kids Ministry.

All other tasks as directed by the Harbor Kids Coordinator.
Requirements
Minimum requirements for the position are a working knowledge of children’s ministries, gifts and experience necessary to lead, develop, and implement teams in children’s ministry, organizational aptitude, good communication skills, comfort level with usage of technology, and a strong desire to lead/shepherd volunteers in the spiritual formation of children.
