Caregiver - Part-time
People with Intellectual Development Disabilities (IDD) want to live meaningful lives filled with work/volunteering, social engagements, the opportunity to learn new things and be a part of something. The problem is most of these individuals don’t have access to transportation, need a support person to help them achieve their goals, and finding an employer who will work with them is challenging. This leaves people with IDD feeling isolated and overwhelmed. I believe every person who has the ability should live a life in which they feel valued, supported, and have a sense of meaning.
If you share this philosophy, have a background in special education, and are looking to support a great person to support and enjoy day-to-day experiences with, I am looking for you. Maybe YOU know someone who would be a good fit? This is a part-time position 9-12 hours per week with an opportunity for growth. Our daughter lives in Rockford, MI. She is high-functioning and engaging. She needs assistance with household chores, getting groceries, light meal prep, writing her blog, and working with her dog’s training. Outings to coffee shops, the mall, hiking, and painting are a few of her favorite things.
