Preschool Teacher – Part Time Mornings
The Preschool Teacher’s life and vocation should embody Christian faith, principles and values. The teacher’s role is to “teach” the children about the love of Jesus through positive role modeling, gentle and consistent temperament, and caring relationships. The teacher shall be a positive, caring person with enthusiasm for caring for children.
The Preschool Teacher must meet the qualifications of the lead caregiver position as defined in the State of Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan and execute developmentally appropriate lessons plans for young children in accordance with established curriculum
- Engage in play with children to build language and social skills
- Facilitate regular art and sensory experiences
- Provide appropriate care and supervision of children at all times
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment for the children
- Utilize Positive Discipline strategies within the classroom
- Follow all policies and procedures for inside and outside the classroom
- Work cooperatively with the program director and other teachers
- Maintain open, honest, respectful communications with parents, planning for conferences when necessary; communicate with parents regarding exceptional behavior, accidents, illnesses and discipline.
