Healthcare - Part-time

Department:  Medical Services

Hours:  Part-time; 8-12 hours per week

General Summary:  The Medical Services Nurse coordinates scheduling and follow-up for the ultrasound program, sees clients for pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, and works with the Advanced Practice Provider to see clients for STD testing and follow-up as needed.  This position also provides education to clients and support staff about pregnancy, prenatal care, abortion, birth control and STD-related topics.

Client Care Responsibilities:

   -Sees clients for pregnancy testing and ultrasound program, screens clients for STD testing

   -Handles phone calls and inquiries related to abortion and abortion pill reversal, as well as ultrasound and STD services

   -Provides support to Medical Services staff, relying on existing protocols and policies and the Medical Director

   -Collaborates with Medical Services Senior Manager and medical providers regarding STD testing results and reading of ultrasounds, including schedule for drop-off and pick-up of reports

   -Responsible to complete follow-up on ultrasound reports and STD testing results, as well as provide reports to clients’ health-care providers as requested, per privacy policy

   -Refers clients to:

      -Other health-care providers for issues that are outside the role’s defined scope of practice

      -The emergency department, if warranted by client’s condition

      -Other community care or service providers who can assist the client to address specific needs

   -Provides client coaching, counseling, and education

   -Collaborates with sonographers to ensure ultrasound equipment and technology is working properly

Qualifications:

   -RN or LPN licensure in the State of Michigan

   -Three(3) to five(5) years of experience working in a medical setting (preferably in OB or Emergency Department)

   -Possesses a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, exhibited by a focus on prayer, study of the Bible, and interaction with others

   -In agreement with the vision and mission of PRC

   -Agrees with and is willing to uphold the Statement of Faith and the policies of PRC

   -Eligible to work in the United States
