Do you love managing community events and have experience doing it? Universal Health Solutions (UHS) is a non-profit organization in Grand Rapids, MI whose mission is to inform, educate, and advocate for increased awareness of and access to integrative health care treatments, bringing complementary and alternative options together with more traditional and mainstream approaches. We are looking for a part-time Event Manager!

UHS will host two conferences each year as well as some community programs. This part-time Event Manager position is project-based, supporting UHS initiatives as needed; hours will vary.

Qualities desired for this role include:

·        5 years experience managing event logistics

·        Experience with local venues and food and beverage suppliers

·        Able to plan and manage all event logistics independently, with organizational input and approval


Manage all event logistics:

·        Venues

·        Catering

·        Audio / Visual

·        Set-up and tear down

·        Parking

·        Vendors (photographer, etc.)

·        Exhibitors (as applicable)

·        Speakers

·        Presentations

·        Agreements / Contracts

·        Facilitation

·        Moderation packets

·        Coordinate travel (as needed)

·        Solicit CEUs (as needed)

·        Handle incentives (as applicable)

·        Schedules / Agendas

·        Production timelines

·        Budgets and expenses  

·        Registration and payment (pre-event and on-site)

·        Ensure necessary materials are on-site, including signage

·        Post-event reports – internal and external

Support additional event efforts:

·        Marketing descriptions

·        Promotion

·        Sponsorships 

·        Feedback surveys

·        Event insurance

·        Provide updates for monthly Board meetings

·        Attend monthly Program Committee meetings as able
