Job Description

Other - Seasonal/Temporary

Three key qualities make a great intern: enjoy interacting with campers, have stellar photography and video skills, and have a natural instinct to tell the photographic story of Camp. Photos are vital for parents and the marketing of Camp Roger and Camp Scottie. Your photos will be used for social media accounts, marketing materials, advancement mailers, and on our website. This is an opportunity to create art and engage with kids at the highest level. Interns should always be near the action and ready to photograph the next event. A high level of energy and a passion for photography will be essential in your role. At the end of each session, interns create a summary video to post on our YouTube site.

Each summer, interns have a video or photography project that they are required to complete before the last session and can be used in an official internship connected to their education.

Requirements: good experience with a DSLR camera for taking photos and videos, knowledge of simple photo and video editing software; love working with kids.

Camp will have computers, Adobe Photoshop, and Premier online editing software that interns will use during the summer for their work. Camp also owns DSLR cameras and will provide them for interns. If you prefer to use your own photography equipment, you may, but at your own risk if it is damaged during the summer.

The Communications & Media Interns for Day Camp and Overnight Camp report to the Communications Manager and each camp’s director.

Camp Roger is located in Rockford, MI.
