Job Description

Healthcare - Part-time

General Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide direct client care for Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) testing and treatment in the Medical Services Department. This individual will also provide support to Medical Services staff related to medical concerns within his/her scope of practice and assist with the development of department and organizational policies and procedures. 

        Client Care Responsibilities:

o   Provides direct care to male and female clients using advanced nursing skills:

§Orders, performs, and interprets STD lab tests within defined scope of practice

§Diagnoses and treats STDs within the scope of available testing, relying on existing CDC STD Guidelines, Up To Date®, as wells as existing policies and standing orders

o   Provides support to Medical Services staff, relying on existing protocols and policies and the Medical Director

o   Refers clients to:

§Other health care providers for issues that are outside the role’s defined scope of practice

§The emergency department, if warranted by client’s condition

§Other community care or service providers who can assist the client to address specific needs

o   Provides client coaching, counseling, and education

Administrative Responsibilities:

o   Documents professional assessment and plan of care in client record in a timely manner

o   Commits to the PRC Privacy and Security Policy

o   Assists with Medical Services’ program and staff development

o   Assists in the development of clinically focused departmental and organizational policies  

o   Collaborates with the Medical Services Senior Manager and Compliance Coordinator, to determine the need for new or updated clinical policies

o   Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with volunteer medical service providers, members of the medical committee, referral providers, and the Medical Director

o   Works collaboratively with Medical Services Senior Manager and all Medical Services staff

Qualifications:

o   Possesses a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, exhibited by a focus on prayer, study of the Bible, and interactions with others

o   In agreement with the vision and mission of the PRC

o   Agrees with and is willing to uphold the Statement of Faith and the policies of the PRC

o   Master’s degree (M.S.); as well as three to five years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in adult, family, or women’s health

o   Certification as a Nurse Practitioner and licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan or licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan

o   Eligible to work in the United States
