Ada Village General Store Assistant Manager

This opportunity provides the candidate with the flexibility and freedom to be creative with the ever-changing dynamic of a growing city and commercial landscape. This position will assist in managing the day-to-day operations, product offerings and help create and maintain a unique culture amongst part-time staff. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Related retail/food service experience preferred 

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service industry with program implementation preferred. Strong customer service skills to handle challenging situations 

  • Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills 

  • Manage and implement social media and marketing for AVGS 

  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays 

  • Food service certified in the state of Michigan preferred 

  • Ability to manage a staff of employees and create a culture of enthusiasm and ownership for the services and goods the store provides the community 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and functions while maintaining a low personal stress level 

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Physical requirements: ability to stand 95% of shift. Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; lift/lower, push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating, and use of telephone; see, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage the store’s employees to ensure customers are being helped in an efficient manner and are receiving quality customer service 

  • Maintain stock and ordering of products 

  • Sales and inventory tracking 

  • Assist with staff recruiting, onboarding, training, and development. 

  • Management of staff scheduling 

  • Assist with managing net revenue by keeping waste minimized 

  • On call availability 

  • Promote products or brands using advertising, promotions, and other marketing techniques, adapting to the everchanging retail environment 

  • Oversee and execute daily social media operations 

  • Motive and empower employees to foster a strong sense of morale 

  • Assist customers and handle all customer concerns, questions and comments maintaining an elevated level of customer satisfaction 

  • Support in the management and upkeep of the Policy and Procedures Manual 

  • Promote and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) 

  • Respond to any emergency and use incident reports as necessary 

  • Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance 

  • Other duties as assigned.
