General Announcements

Address Changes — We are updating our records. If you have moved in the last couple of years or have recently married but have not notified the church office, please e-mail info@adabible.org. Be sure to include both your married and maiden names so we can merge the correct records.

Military Service — If you or someone in your family is a member of the military, send us their name, address, birthday, branch, and current military assignment. We have a group of people who commit to pray for them each week and write notes of encouragement. Contact military@adabible.org.

Weather Alerts — Whenever there is a tornado, winter storm, or other significant weather warning, we will most likely cancel services and events at the church. For closing information check adabible.org, WOOD-TV8, and WZZM-13.

Women's Ministry

Flip Flops and Lemonade - This evening is a fun and informational event for you to experience the many different elements of the Women's Ministry. Join us August 26 at 7 p.m. in the Discovery Village Uptown Diner. Bring your calendars, (flip flops are optional,) and a friend to find out what is going on for 2010-11 ministry year. We will have appetizers, desserts, and lemonade. Childcare not provided. Contact womensministry@adabible.org.

ABC Moms - This group is for mothers with young children ages birth - six years old. We provide the opportunity for you to grow in your faith, connect with other mothers, and be encouraged in your role as wife, mom, sister, and friend. Enjoy small group discussions, speakers, games, crafts and even the occasional outing. Our nursery provides care for infants and toddlers. Registration and donation required. Program Childcare — Positions (both paid and volunteer) are available for helpers in children's programs for ABC Moms on Tuesday mornings and Women in the Word on Wednesday mornings. Small Groups

Women's Community Groups — If you lead a group in your neighborhood, we have resources available to support and encourage you. Contact Iva Gier at igier@adabible.org.

Union|Central — This is the main gathering of our community where men and women in their 20s connect with each other from a variety of backgrounds and life stages in a large group gathering for discussion, teaching, and interaction. Join us August 24 from 6-10 p.m. at the Kentwood Campus Contact union@adabible.org.

Care Ministries

If today's message has evoked a need for further care or counsel, we can connect you with a pastor or ministry to help you. Contact Care Ministries at 622.3175 or care@adabible.org.

Meals Ministry —Do you show love by cooking meals for others? Join our meals ministry team! This ministry provides love and care for our attenders who are not yet connected to a small group. Contact meals@adabible.org.

Community Resource – are you struggling with pornography or related issues? If you are looking for a safe place to share your heart, call 622.3180 or e-mail pursuepurity@adabible.org. Your e-mail or call is confidential.

Privacy Rules — Because of patient privacy rules, hospitals are prevented from contacting churches without the express permission of the patient. If you or a family member are in the hospital and you would like us to have this information, you must first inform the hospital and then contact the church at 868.7005.

Volunteer

A smiling face, warm welcome, desire to help are all that's needed to serve in Hospitality! Volunteers are needed for the ARC, coffee bar, ushers, greeters and Welcome Centers. Volunteering is a great way to make a larger church feel a little smaller. Training is provided. Contact bbestrom@adabible.org.

Our Special Needs program is growing! We need buddies who are able to assist children of various ages participating in Discovery Village programs. Adult men and women teams are needed to lead a Bible Study for high-functioning teens and young adults. Materials will be provided. Contact Sally Brown at sbrown@adabible.org.

LifeLine Student Ministries needs 30 people who are ready to lean into the life of a student as small group leaders, coaches, or cell family host homes. Contact lifeline@adabible.org.

The Father's Garden is a ministry that grows produce to donate to ministry partners in the GR area. Last year, this quarter acre plot yielded over 500 lb. of produce, such as tomatoes, peppers, and green beans. Volunteers currently meet on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. Contact Molly Carlstrom at mcarlstrom@adabible.org.

Do you like kids? Do you like great music? Then the Discovery Village music team wants you! All you need is an outgoing personality and the willingness to be a bit ridiculous while teaching kids the joy of worshiping their God. Please contact anneferris@adabible.org.

TheCommon

Join TheCommon, where serving each other is the name of the game. To register, fill out your name and e-mail on the bulletin response card, drop off at the Welcome Center, and we’ll take care of the rest. This is a great way to serve our community as a family, small group, or on your own. Needs and abilities are posted daily. Check in often to see how you can help.
